Did you, or do you let your baby nap in a car seat, stroller, or swing? Experts are warning this could put your child in danger.

A recent study in the Journal of Pediatrics tells parents that the leading cause of death in babies during their first year of life is sleep-related.  The Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio found that if used incorrectly, car seats, strollers, swings, and bouncers can be deadly for babies.

The cause was asphyxia. The straps in car seats were the biggest problem.  Researchers stated, “Car seats should not be used as sleeping areas outside of the vehicle, and children should never be in a car seat with unbuckled or partially buckled straps.” They also found that it can take as little as four minutes for death to occur.
