When I read this story I was HORRIFIED! Chantal Marshall of the UK encourages her 14-year-old daughter, Britney Marshall, to get breast implants.
I am not a perfect mom. I make mistakes and I do things that I’m sure other moms might frown upon. Because I know that I am imperfect, I also try hard not to judge other moms and their parenting styles. We all make mistakes and do things our own way. But why in the world would this mother be pushing breast implants on her 14-year-old daughter?!
According to the article Chantal and her four other daughters have over £50,000 worth of breast implants between them, with cup sizes going all the way up to a 34HH. As the youngest daughter, Britney considers herself the “brainy” one of the group. So even though her mom says Britney doesn’t have “what she would call boobs” and she’d “like her to follow in her sisters’ footsteps,” Britney is going through a “funny phase.”
She really thinks that NOT wanting breast implants is a “funny phase?”
Maybe I’ll decide to get them too and start saving in a few years,” she says. “But for now I want to focus on my school work.”
It’s hard NOT to jude this situation. I mean, why would a mother want her perfectly normal, not to mention, not yet fully developed daughter to have new boobs? There have got to be some pretty messed up psychological issues about self-image at play in this family. Don’t you think?! – Lauri
