Taking my kids to P.F. Changs is usually a bad idea. They don’t like most of the menu, they would rather be almost anywhere else, and they do weird things with chop-stix. I guess we’ll try nicer restaurants when they are a little bit older, like 21 or 33. Because lots of people like to mix things up when it comes to kids and food, The New York Times decided to take six second-graders out for lunch.
They visited a restaurant called Daniel and ordered the seven course meal, that costs $220 per person. My first thought was the kids won’t appreciate it, they don’t care how much food costs, they just want it to taste good. The head chef of the restaurant, Daniel Boulud, said the goal for the kids’ lunch is “to really discover a lot of flavor, a lot of layers, a lot of texture” and to “experience something maybe very unique for them.”
The kids were too cute. They didn’t like too many of the foods, but they liked some. They compared som of the good to soap and eel. They enjoyed the fish and steak. Check out their special lunch below.
