We’re about one month from the end of the school year and by now you’ve probably received your first graduation invite of the year. These are the kids that really need your gift, whatever it may be. Hopefully they are moving on to college or tech school. Many of them will be moving away to college with little or nothing. Here are five gifts they will actually use!
1. Cash – This is one thing all grads agree on. They can never receive too much cash. Check out Pinterest for a million and one unique ways to gift cash.
2. Netflix Account – Everybody uses it and it is definitely a gift they’ll use.
3. Gift Cards to Target, Walmart, Gas Station, Restaurant, etc. –Whatever type of gift card you decide on, make sure they have the store in either their home town or their school town.
4. Emergency Kit for their Car – Chances are they’ll be driving more now that they are graduates. Make sure they are safe and sound on the road. There are a ton of great ways to make your own emergency road kit (like this one I found on FrugalMaine.com) or you find a premade one. It might not be the prettiest gift, but it will definitely be the most useful.
5. College Survival Kit – Put together a basket with things like laundry soap, flip flops, favorite candy, large bath towel, laundry bag, basically things they’ll need living in a dorm or new apartment. Put these together in a basket and you’ve got a fantastic grad gift.
