For some parents, bedtime is the most frustrating time of day. Some children can be stubborn about closing those eyes and settling down, and getting up multiple times can push their parent’s patience and wastes precious time.
One Minnesota mom of two is helping to change that with a clever invention called “elo”. elo is a storytelling pillow. It comes with a playlist of children’s stories and you can download more from the elo store. When your child lays their head down on the elo pillow the story starts, and when they lift their head up, the story stops. elo then prompts them by saying, “Lay your head back down to hear the rest of the story.” It is said to help kids relax and keep them in bed.
elo is not designed to replace parents reading to their children. Storytime between parent and child is encouraged, it’s just a way to keep them in bed after they are tucked in.
Inventor, Killian Rieder says it has made the bedtime process so much easier in her home, and according to testimonials on their website, other parents are raving about it too.
elo runs $150 and is available for purchase online and at a kiosk in the Mall of America.
What do you think of this idea? Would you pay $150 for a talking pillow?
