Most teens want new phones or video game systems for their birthday. However, a 14-year-old boy only wanted a vacuum cleaner.
Dylan Greene was diagnosed with autism at a young age and has been obsessed with vacuum cleaners since he was two years old. His mother, Jodie Greene, said she realized his interest was unusual, but she encouraged him. This year she went all out and decided to have a vacuum cleaner themed birthday party.
Jodie wrote to Kirby vacuums and explained her situation. She told them how Dylan enjoys watching videos about vacuum cleaners. She asked if they could send a salesman to do a demo at the birthday party, she even offered to pay for the demo.
Kirby responded with much more than a demo. They sent over a seasoned salesman and a free vacuum for Dylan. Al Archie, the salesman, said he was in awe of the passion Dylan had for vacuum cleaners. “I wanted to do something for him,’ he said. ‘[It was] an opportunity to give something back,” he told the Daily Mail.
This mother definitely went above and beyond for her son. What an amazing company Kirby is to help out.
