Have you ever left your child unattended for a short time, only to come back and find they had gotten in to “trouble”?  I will admit, I have a few times.  Sometimes you have to take a bathroom break, or answer a phone call.  Sometimes the clothes need to go into the dryer.  Once, I came back into the room with blue acrylic paint poured all over my brand new rug.  It doesn’t take long for little ones to find trouble when they’re unsupervised.

One Missouri Grandma is probably really regretting her decision to leave her grandchildren unattended.

Aretha McAdoo, 43 had left a box of wine on the table along with a glass she had poured for herself.  Apparently, she left the room for a time and when she returned she found her glass empty and her 4-year-old granddaughter very drunk.

Aretha called 911, and when they responded the young girl was unresponsive.  She came to, threw up and was taken to the hospital where they found her blood alcohol content to be  .159,  nearly twice the legal driving limit… for an adult.  McAdoo was also found to be intoxicated herself, slurring her words and having problems balancing.

According to the NY Daily News, Grandma was arrested and charged with child endangerment and could face up to a year in jail.

What are your thoughts?  Do you think she deserves the time?
