It is summer and the kids are out of school.  You’re probably looking for fun things to do with the family. Here are five FREE things in Colorado Springs you can do with your family.

  1. Focus on the Family Welcome Center
Attractions include a kids’ play area with a three-story slide, Whit’s End Soda Shoppe, birthday party rooms, the G. Harvey Art Gallery and the Solid Grounds coffee bar. Downstairs in the Welcome Center, young visitors will love the newly expanded Kid’s Korner. One of the main attractions is A-Bend-A-Go, a three-story corkscrew slide that’s 76 feet long. Riders must be at least 43 ½ inches tall and no taller than 5’9″. Even toddlers (ages 0-4) get a chance to play safely in a special play room designed especially for them.ff1 ff2
  2. Money Museum
The Kids Zone teaches kids about money the way they learn best: by doing and playing. Through fun activities, interactive exhibits and FREE classes, children can pick up basic and advanced concepts – from how to make change to understanding monetary systems. The exhibits teach children about history, geography, trade, art, world cultures and more. Although 12 and under are free, parents are $5 and military are $4 with ID.  Also, there are classes for kids 12 and under. You can check their website for schedules. These classes are free and when your kids are in the Kids’ Zone classes, parents can view and explore the Money Museum for free.  Enroll: Call (719)632-2646 or enroll here on www.money.org/moneymuseum/kidszone.
