Waiting for the doctor while you are sick or with a sick kid is torture. There is a service in Chicago called Orunje (orange) that is changing things up. There are currently a few other companies in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York that offer doctors on demand.
With Orunje you fill out a form online and within two hours a doctor or nurse comes to your home. It cost $99 for a nurse visit and $169 for a doctor visit. They can write prescriptions and deal with the most common ailments. They offer service from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.
This is an amazing idea that could be a new market for doctors around the country. I know I’d rather have a doctor come to me if my kid is running a temperature and snotting everywhere. Would you use a service like this?
