Bath toys can get pretty gross, pretty fast. Mildew, mold, and nasty bacteria can build up inside and on your child’s bath toys without you even noticing. Cleaning them as often as you can is something that I highly recommend. I try and do mine at least once a week. It’s a super simple process, and you barely have to do a thing!
What you need:
– White Vinegar
– Blue Dawn Dish soap
– HOT Water
What you need to do:
– Take your toys to the kitchen sink.
– Plug the sink and fill it with super hot water.
– Add around 2-3 cups of vinegar, and a good squirt of Dawn.
– Make sure if you have toys like rubber ducks, that you suck the hot water/mixture into them.
– Let them sit inside this solution for 30-45 minutes
– Rinse once or twice!

Why not use bleach?
I try to avoid bleach when it comes to using it on things my children come into contact with.
Not only are the fumes unsafe for children, but bleach is known as a pesticide! {yes, this is in fact true, you can read more about it on the US EPA site.} I’ll be getting more in depth with the in’s and out’s of bleach in a future post, but just know, it’s not the safest thing to clean something your child is putting in their mouth with!
Why Vinegar?
Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and antibacterial cleaner. What’s better than using something that naturally has those capabilities?
