A Georgia family is being sued by their homeowners association their granddaughter’s playhouse is pink. The HOA states they are only following the rules of the neighborhood. Officially, sheds and garages are “landscape improvements,” and both the structure itself, and the color, must be approved by the HOA.
Homeowner Becky Rogers-Peck had permission to build the playhouse, but not to paint in pink. After the HOA meeting it was found that only 3 out of over 30 neighborhood memebers had complained. The neighborhood is suing the family because of 3 complaints. That doesn’t sound right at all.
She could have simply bought a pink playhouse from Toys R Us and there would have been no trouble, but because she built the playhouse, there is trouble. The playhouse cannot even be seen from the front of the home. Attorney, Wright McLeod says “he’s suing because the six member board told him to, despite what the rest of the community thinks.” Most of the other neighbors say the situation is dumb and just plain wrong.
You can see the playhouse in the video below. Let us know what you think: Should the homeowner be sued or is it just a playhouse and the HOA needs to back off.
