There is a lot of controversy surrounding this video of a TSA at Chicago O’Hare International Airport giving what seems to be an excessively thorough check of a confused 3-year-old boy in a wheelchair.
I am all for safety when it comes to flying however, this appears to be a bit over-the-top when they don’t allow the parents to physically comfort their child thought the exam – this is a 3-year-old. They also test the boy’s cast and hands for explosive residue.
We all know that the TSA can never be too careful nor should we fault them for doing their jobs; however, does this seem like a legitmate safety concern? That’s a lot of time spent on a potentially very young ?terrorist’ when it could be spent on a random check or possibly concentrating on something or someone more suspicious.
He was friendly, I’ll give him that… and maybe he has just gotten some sort of warning that there was a valid concern over a potential terrorist traveling with a dangerous 3-year-old, we’ll never know.
How do you feel about this possibly happening to your child?
Are they just doing their job or do you think this is excessive?
