After watching The Nanny Diaries a few days ago, I was left wondering how many of my friends had nanny cams and just didn’t talk about it. Leaving your child home with someone is always a taxing decision, but it never occurred to me to use one unless I suspected something weird.
On the other hand, if I HAD suspected weird, the caregiver would no longer be in employment anyhow.
Turns out, more and more people are using nanny cams, not to watch the nanny’s, but to keep an eye on what their older kids are doing. Keeping an eye on precious valuables or alcohol, making sure they do what they’re told to do when coming home to an empty house, etc., all have made the news about other ways to employ a nanny cam.
Many of the new nanny cams can be viewed from a remote location, similar to a security system so mom and dad can check in on what their nanny, or youngster, is doing.
