One mom decided to document her “co-sleeping” experience. Here is what mom, Esther Anderson, had to say about her video:
Every morning my baby sleeps in my bed with me for a couple hours after she wakes up to eat. And every morning I ask myself why I didn’t just put her back in her crib….so this morning I grabbed my cellphone and recorded what my baby alarm clock looks like. I think I’m not alone in this…
That’s great and all, but a couple of hours in the morning isn’t co-sleeping. I co-slept with both of my kids until they asked for their own beds, around 3 1/2 – 4 years old. Co-sleeping is when your child sleeps with you all the time.
Honestly, co-sleeping was a great experience for me. I slept soundly and my child did too. Sure, there were nights when they would hit me in the face or kick me around, but we got used to each other. We learned to sleep together and that was a good thing, especially while I was breastfeeding.
So, while this is cute and all, it’s not really co-sleeping. It’s a nap and this looks like a baby who wants to wake up and play.
