Are you loyal to your grocery store? Do you shop around for the best deals? Do you pick your supermarket based on location? Some grocery stores are better than others and Consumer Reports has released the ratings.
The top grocery store in the US is Wegmans. This chain, located in the North East, has consistently been a customer favorite. Second place was a tie between Publix and Trader Joe’s. (You know Trader Joe’s recently opened a store here in Colorado Springs and it is amazing!)
Fourth place was a tie between Fareway and Market Basket. The last of the top 10 were Costco, Raley’s, Sprouts, Fresh Market and Stater Bros.
The ratings were based on “63,000 responses to the Consumer Reports’ 2014 Supermarket Survey, reflecting 111,000 shopping trips between March 2013 and July 2014.”
In case you were wondering, there was a three-way tie for worst grocery stores in the nation: A&P, Waldbaum’s, and Walmart. Why don’t customers like them: bakery, meats, and produce.
