It may seem like an unusual pair, but 5-month-old Alia and her pet sloth named Daisy are inseparable! Alia’s parents adopted Daisy before mom Julia even became pregnant, and when baby met Daisy she was only 2 days old! They became best friends quickly, even sporting matching headbands.
Alia’s mom is a children’s book illustrator and often uses her pets as inspiration in her pictures to teach children about environmental awareness.
Julia tells Yahoo News, “The sloth and baby have been growing up together, taking walks together, and working alongside mommy as I write my books and travel to schools. It may sound like an unusual situation, but the look on the schoolchildren’s faces as they meet their favorite book characters in real-life are priceless. These are memories that will stick with those children for a lifetime.”
