Elmo has become one of the most loved characters on Sesame Street. The man behind Elmo, Kevin Clash, is becoming as loved. A new documentary about Clash, “Being Elmo,” is coming out October 21. His story is amazing. He always wanted to be a puppeteer, even making his own puppets when he was a teenager.
Of course, with all the Elmo love, there are also some Elmo haters. One mom, over at BabyCenter.com, talked about the documentary and told people to see it, but she also mentioned that she wasn’t a fan of Elmo. “To put it bluntly on a personal level, Elmo has never been one of my favorites. There may even have been a period where I believed Death to Smoochie was misnamed, yet I adore the preview for Being Elmo.”
Commenters on her blog chimed in with “Elmo hurts my ears” and “I hate Elmo.” There were plenty of others who wrote about how much they adored Elmo and how Elmo gives them a few minutes of free time, every day.
Personally, I loved Elmo and my boys loved him when they were toddlers. He’s cute, sweet and kind. You can check out the preview of “Being Elmo” below.
