  1. Do What You Can Ahead!! Dressing (or Stuffing), Sweet Potatoes, Pies, and even Mashed Potatoes can all be made3-4 days in advance. The Dressing and Sweet Potatoes make all the way up until the point that you need to bake them. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator and on Turkey Day pull them out 30 minutes before you place them in the oven and bake as you normally would. Mashed potatoes can be cooked and mashed and then stored in the fridge. The day of, place in a glass bowl over simmering water, that is NOT touching the bowl, and slowly heat through. This can take 30 or so minutes, but it takes care of itself. You may need to add a splash or two of milk just to keep that creamy consistency.
  2. BRINE, BRINE, BRINE your Bird!!! Brining you turkey 24hrs prior to roasting will give you the moistest and most flavorful Turkey you will even have. Also, allow your Turkey to rest 30 minutes on the counter prior to carving. This lets all of the juices redistribute throughout the bird and not run all over your cutting board, thus leaving you with a dry bird.   3. Don’t Try and Reinvent the Wheel on Thanksgiving! Stick with trusted and basic recipes on this day otherwise you might stress yourself out WAY to much over one little dish and forget what the day is about, Being Thankful, and Time with Family.
  4. ASK FOR HELP! You don’t have to do it all yourself. If you’ve got family and friends coming over ask them to help out, bring a side dish, bring a pie, BRING THE WINE! Working together makes this day, a family get together, way more fun!
