This past week in Sandy, UT a man entered a home through an unlocked door, rummaged through their basement and upon finding their 5 year old daughter asleep in her room attempted to kidnap her.
Thankfully he was loud enough that it awoke her parents, and her father found them just as the man was crossing their front yard with their daughter. The father demanded he hand over the child, and he did without protest and ran off. The child was not harmed.
Fox News reports the chilling 911 call made by the mother:”There was a man in my home and he took my 5-year-old daughter.”
“And I happened to wake up and he had my daughter outside, and my husband ran out there and got her from him. But he took my 5-year-old daughter.”
Police came, a perimeter was secured, and with the help of police dogs a search began for the suspect. He had fled the scene and entered another home 2 blocks away through a doggy door. The dogs at that home alerted the residents who yelled for police to come, since they were already in the area. One dog bit the suspect in the shoulder.
The suspect (pictured above) is 48 year old Troy Morley of Roy, UT. He was arrested on charges of child kidnapping, burglary, trespassing and resisting arrest.
