A 7-year-old child from London who was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is suing her biological mother for drinking while she was pregnant.
The mother, who was 17 at the time of her pregnancy apparently drank vodka and beer on a daily basis while pregnant which caused permanent damage to her unborn child.
However, before the girl and her legal guardians can move forward with the suit, they have to appeal a ruling that states unborn children are not actually “people.” Because the act took place before she was born, it’s possible she won’t have any rights.
