Just over a week ago, our hearts sank as we learned the devastating news that 2-year-old Lane Graves was on vacation at Disney World with his family, when he was suddenly grabbed by an alligator and pulled under water. On the evening of June 14th, he had been playing on the beach of a lagoon which was on the premises of the resort they were staying at. Despite the father desperately beating off the alligator to free his son, they could not save him. His tiny in-tact body was recovered 2 days later.
The family is clearly devastated and in mourning, and will be for years to come. As parents ourselves, we can’t imagine such a tragic accident, and our hearts are hurting with theirs.
Matt and Melissa Graves live in Nebraska, and although they have made no requests, their church is accepting sympathy cards and donations on their behalf.
