More and more options are now available for those who have passed on. Cremation and burial are still the most popular, but many are seeking alternative options. For example, you can now have a “green” burial where your remains are not embalmed and are placed in a biodegradable container, or how about a “sky burial” where you are left high on a mountain top for birds to scavenge. (I wish I was kidding)
A Swedish company is offering a more glamorous option. Your remains can be turned in to a diamond! The blue color comes from the amount of Boron present in the ashes. The process costs about $4500, which is about half of what a traditional funeral costs. You can then wear your loved one as a piece of jewelry.
The whole process is pretty fascinating, and I guess if anything it’s a space saver? You can read more about how they do it here.
What are your thoughts? Would you ever consider doing this?
