Colorado was first recognized as a state August 1, 1876. Celebrate Colorado’s birthday with free entrance to Colorado’s state parks on Monday, August 1! Park entrance fees are waived, but activities like fishing and camping will still require a valid license and permit.
Military and Veterans Free August Pass
Active duty and veterans are admitted free to Colorado state parks for the month of August! The military member or veteran must show proof of military service (photo ID, DD-214, VA medical card) and obtain the free pass from any Colorado state park or CPW office. Military member or veteran must be in the vehicle using the pass. All other park fees (camping, etc) are still charged.
