A Kindergarten teacher from Iowa was arrested last week after a parent noticed an open can of beer in the classroom. The parent was volunteering in the classroom for a Valentine’s Day party, and immediately alerted authorities.
40-year-old teacher, Jennifer Rich failed the preliminary breath test prompting her arrest. The Ankeny Police Department also revealed that ‘Police officers located a leather carry bag in her classroom with two empty cans of beer and four additional full cans of beer.’
The police report also stated that Rich’s eyes were watery and bloodshot. The school immediately put Rich on administrative leave, but she ended up resigning the following Monday.
The school board and police department are assuring parents that their children were never in any danger, but it makes you wonder how long this was going on, and to what extent?
