A Florida woman was arrested for abusing her son in a bizarre type of punishment. The 10-year-old boy has a medical condition that causes him to wet his bed. The mother, Christle Prado, told police that her roommate came up with the punishment.
The boys was forced to wear a dress and makeup and go outside. While others laughed at him his mother took pictures. The mom and landlord were both arrested on charges of cruelty toward a child and infliction of physical or mental injury.
Prado had been investigated by the Department of Children and Family Services, but there was no public information available from that case. Some of the neighbors said the boy and his two siblings have been abused for a while. Thankfully, all of the children are in the care of their grandmother and safe.
Obviously, this is not a form of punishment that should be used by anyone. The police said they are investigating the woman. Do you think public shaming is ever an acceptable form of punishment?
