So, I have what I like to call mom hair; it’s long, straight and un-colored. But, I think it works for me as the majority of the time I have it up in a ponytail and when I want to go out I can curl it, straighten it, tease it or try an up-do. I have started pinning fun hair-dos on Pinterest to try when I’m headed out and about. One warning, I’m not a great hair person meaning I struggle to try new things with my hair because they never end up looking like I imagine them. For instance, French braiding my own hair is definitely out of my scope of work
Below are three hair pins I have on my board and my oPINion on each of them.
This past holiday season I attended a party where the dress code was cocktail to formal. In my mind a formal or cocktail dress goes up a notch when you wear your hair in an up-do. This hair-do was perfect allowing for a slick look but could be complimented with a bump in the back. I’m not going to lie, this hair style took a couple of tries to get it just right and lord knows how many bobby pins stuck and tucked every which way. But, this girl figure it out even though by the end of the evening it was falling out here and there. I think trying this do for a second time would turn out much better.
My End Result |
I have not had bangs since, goodness I don’t even know so this hairstyle was fun to try for a day and REALLY threw people off. It is SO simple with this tutorial plus there are other helpful tutorials on Pinterest to use as well. With a little more practice and time I think I could have made the bangs look a little better. But, for a casual day a very messy look, with a headband to help hide some of my mess ups, suited me perfect. This hair-do is a must for a TOTALLY new look without cutting. Plus, you can really see what you would look like with bangs. One word of caution! If your hair color on your ends is different than your roots, like mine, it may look a little rockerish 🙂
I would love to see some of your hair oPINions from your hair-do’s off of Pinterest!
I’m not a professional and all the above oPINions are my own. I would love to hear your oPINions on these same recipes or other Pinterest recipes, crafts, tips or tricks you have tried. Please send the Pinterest link along with your review directly to me (katiecoulsonwhite@gmail.com) and I’ll include you in my next Pinterest Opinion posting.
