Parents who don’t pay child support don’t always have consequences. However, one North Carolina Sheriff’s office is hoping a new tactic will help them find deadbeat parents. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office created a Facebook page that shows wanted posters of parents who have failed to show in court.

These parents could owe anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. The wanted posters tell about the offenders, their name, address, etc. When offenders are arrested, their wanted posters are taken down.

Social media is a powerful tool. In this case, the officers hope that someone who knows the parent’s location will see the poster and call the authorities.

Do you think this will help catch parents who aren’t paying up?
