If you have a large walk in closet, with shelves and drawers and lots of room, consider yourself lucky.  If you’re like the rest of us and sharing a closet with your husband, we have some handy tips to help you get your closet in order.  When you have an organized closet you can see all your clothes and that makes deciding what to wear super easy.

First, Clean Your Closet Out Decide what to keep, what to donate, and what to trash. If a majority of your closet is too small, too big, or out of date, you are wasting valuable space.  Also, you may find you need to buy a few new things to round out your wardrobe.

Add storage where you can: shoe racks on the top, bins for out of season storage, hooks for hanging scarves, necklaces, etc. Shoe racks on the top of your closet are a great way to use space that is difficult to see.  You can put out of season clothes up there or just buy a stool for easy access.

Install a second closet rod above or below your main one and double your space! You can buy an inexpensive stool to keep in the closet for easy access.  You can even add a rod if you have a funky space due to stairs or odd shaped room.
