Wednesday, January 23 is National Pie Day! To celebrate with your children, here is a recipe for delicious pizza pie treats that dogs will love. This is a great activity to do with your children once they get home from school. You can fix these gourmet treats for your own puppy, or you could offer them to doggie neighbors – as long as their owners say it’s ok!
Ingredients:
- One hamburger bun (crust)
- Two tablespoons peanut butter (sauce)
- Soft dog treats (such as Pupperoni or Beggin’ strips)
- Two tablespoons grated cheese
Open hamburger bun to make two pie crusts. Spread peanut butter on the inside of both buns. Break Pupperoni or Beggin’ strips into small pieces and arrange on top of peanut butter. Sprinkle both halves with grated cheese. Cut each puppy pizza into 4 wedges using a pizza cutter.
Treat your dog to one or two slices. Eating a whole pizza pie at one time might make your dog sick.
