In a sad story out of Longmont, Colorado, a baby is dead, the mother is in the hospital, and another woman is in jail. Wednesday afternoon a woman beat and stabbed the pregnant woman and cut her baby out of her. Police answered a call for help and saw the woman who had been attacked.
The mother was seven months pregnant and did not know her attacker. “This is a tragic case for a mother right now,” Longmont Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur told the Longmont Times-Call. “She came by this house. She was attacked, and her baby was removed from her.”
The victim has had surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect is a 34-year-old woman who took the dead baby to a hospital and told them she had a miscarriage. Police are hoping to get a search warrant for the attacker’s home.
