The U.S. Product Safety Commission and Radio Flyer announce the voluntary recall of Scoot ‘n Zoom children’s riding toys.
Approximately 165,000 of the toys were sold nationwide at various retailers, including Walmart, and also online at Amazon.com and Target.com between August 2010 and August 2011. The toys sold for about $20. Toys being recalled are model 711, which can be found molded on the underside of the toy; toys with a yellow sticker #711B are not included in the recall.
The toy is being recalled because it can tip over causing a fall hazard; six imnjuries have been reported, inlcuding lacerations requiring stitches and teeth being removed or loosened.
If consumers own the toy, they should take the toy away from children and contact Radio Flyer for a full refund or free replacement unit at 1-800-621-7613 Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. CT, or at the company’s website.
