School bans parents from school: Good or bad idea?

One of the small joys I have as a mom is the morning walk. You know the one, those final moments you hold your little one’s hand just before they let go to walk to their classroom. In the early years, your little ones cry. In later years, you cry. But due to current security issues, some school are banning parents being in the school during morning drop off.

Due to enhanced security measures, in many north Texas schools, they do not allow parents to walk their kids to classrooms, after the first week of school.

“It’s very busy on a campus first thing in the morning, dropping off kids arriving for the day. So, being able to know who’s in the building, who’s in front, who’s deeper into the building, is very important in keeping our kids safe,” district spokesperson Judy Ramos told CBS Dallas-Fort Worth.

Do you think parents should be allowed to walk their children into the classroom during drop-off? Would you like stronger security like that at your child’s school?
