Check your strollers, Graco has instituted a huge recall. Nearly 5 million strollers in North America have a a major flaw that could cut off a child’s fingertip. The recall includes 11 models.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission warned parents that so far, six children have lost their fingertip. Four others have had partial amputations. The problem is with the external sliding fold-lock hinge.
1. Recalled models include the Aspen, Breeze, Capri, Cirrus, Glider, Kite, LiteRider, Sierra, Solara, Sterling and TravelMate Model Strollers and Travel Systems. The recall is only for single-strollers, no double strollers. They have the external sliding fold-lock hing on the side and a one-hand fold release on the handle.
2. The strollers were manufactured between August 1, 2000 to September 25, 2014. You can find the date and model number on the white label at the bottom of the stroller leg above the rear wheel.
