What’s your favorite part of the Super Bowl? The game itself, or the commercials? For me – that always depends on which team is actually playing. This year since it’s my home team (GO BRONCOS), of course I am interested in the game AND the commercials. Either way – you will need to have some great snacks to watch the game.

Here are a few options for great snacks and super bowl foods, that won’t cost you a ton of money:

1. – super easy to make and goes the distance at a party. All you need is a can of refried beans, a packet of taco seasoning, salsa, sour cream or cream cheese, 2 avocados, tomatoes, shredded cheese, canned olives, and green onions. Some people add lettuce – but I find it gets soggy so I skip it. Most of these ingredients are on sale across town, so depending on where you go – the cost will run anywhere from $8-$10 and this serves up to 32 people, so cost per serving of $.25 – $.31 is really reasonable.

3. Turkey Chili – A healthier alternative to the ground beef variety and its super quick and easy to make because you can combine all the ingredients together in the crock pot in the morning and by the time your guests arrive – you will have a delicious meal prepared. Just serve with grated cheese and sour cream and cut up green onions and you will have some happy guests! Jennie-O ground turkey is on sale at Safeway for $3.99 with an in-ad coupon right now, and use the $1.00/2 Jennie-O Ground Turkey Printable Coupon, for $3.49 final price to save 46%.

4. Frozen Pizza – This is about as easy as it gets for a Super Bowl party, and the pricing sure beats pizza delivery too! There are lots of sales on frozen pizzas right now. DiGiorno is on sale at Safeway and King Soopers for $3.99, and at Walmart and Target for $4.50. At Target, you can even get a free 2 liter of soda when you buy 2 pizzas. Be sure to use the Buy 2, Get 1 Free Digiorno Pizza Printable Coupon for extra savings. Tombstone pizza is on sale at King Soopers for $2.00, Red Baron pizza is on sale at King Soopers and Safeway for $2.50. If you prefer the fresh pizzas that you can bake at home, Safeway has the large family size Signature Cafe pizzas on sale Friday – Sunday for $5.00. These are normally $8.49, so this is a 41% savings for a large 37 oz pizza!
