Teen Goes To Target Looking For a Tie and Gets Much More

This week a teen entered a Target store in Raleigh, NC to purchase a tie, but left with much more.  He asked an employee if they sold clip-on ties as he was going to his first job interview and wanted to look nice.

The store clerk told him they didn’t, but she asked her fellow co-worker Dennis Roberts if he knew how to tie a regular tie.  He did.  The teen purchased the tie and handed it over to Roberts who began teaching him to tie it.  He didn’t stop there.  He started giving the teen advice on how to interview, including looking people in the eye and giving a firm handshake.  He tucked in his shirt and coached him some more.

A shopper noticed the interaction and was so touched by the scene that she snapped a photo and posted it on social media.

“It was a very quiet simple moment, but it was very profound,” she tells CNN. “He leaves and all these Target employees are screaming ‘Bye! Good luck! Tell us how it went.’ “I got so emotional. I got teary.”

A few days later Target team members stopped by the Chick-Fil-A where the teen interviewed to share the story with the manager.

The manager remembered the teen well saying he had definitely left a good impression and had him come back for a second interview.  The young man will find out this week if he got the job.

Thanks to good people in the community who care, we are betting he does!
