Spoiler alert: Kids cause parents to argue.
Parents are going to argue, they are going to disagree, and they are usually going to have intense conversations with one another. According to a survey by Care.com, parents argue about raising children at least eight times a month. The results found that about half the time parents compromise on the issue, but about 40 percent say Mom is usually the decision maker.
The number one argument is how to discipline a child. Even two parents who are mostly on the same page disagree sometimes, especially on this topic. Do you threaten punishment, but don’t follow through? Maybe your partner uses time-out and you prefer a spank.
Here are the top 10 reasons parents argue when it comes to children:
1. How to discipline their child
2. Giving in to tantrums
3. One parent saying yes to a child when the other had just said no
4. One not following through on a threat of punishment
5. One parent shouting or being too strict
6. Whether to let a baby cry or self-soothe
7. How much to spend on them for birthdays and at Christmas
8. Immediately seeing to a crying baby
