1. Archaeology Day at the Colorado Springs Pioneer’s Museum: October 18 is International Archaeology Day! Join the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum for a family fun day – fun and fascinating for all ages! 2. Boo at the Zoo! (October 17, 18, 19) It’ll be all treats and no tricks for your little pirates and princesses at this year’s Boo at the Zoo, the region’s most unique Halloween event. Boo at the Zoo is a fun way for families with young children to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween festivities in a safe environment, and all of our candy is made with sustainable palm oil to help protect wild orangutans! 3. The Spook-Out Shoot-Out Family Halloween Event: Come Trick or Treat at Southern Colorado’s Most Exciting Halloween Event for Families! The 2014 Spook~Out Shoot~Out Family Halloween! The Spook~Out Shoot~Out Family Halloween Event delivers Scare-Free Fun for the entire Family. Enjoy Trick or treating through the Haunted Old West along the Jack o Lantern Trail while you visit dozens of Treat Stations. Take a Hay Ride to the Pirate Ship where we’ll be roast’n marshmallows and telling stories. Add some carnival style games, bounce house, Punkin Chunkin, Helicopter Rides, and one heck of a Costume Contest and chances are you won’t even get everything done in one night!

Now in our 6th year, the Spook~Out Shoot~Out is becoming well known as the most exciting Halloween Party for Families in Southern Colorado. We anticipate this year’s event will deliver more than 6,000 Princesses, Heroes, Goblins, and Parents over 6-nights of Scare~Free Family FUN!

4. Giant Pumpkin Weigh Festival, Old Colorado City: The Giant Pumpkin Weigh Festival will be held in Old Colorado City on Saturday, October 18th, from 10am to 3pm. Join the fun with Miss Kiddee & Friends, John Wayne, Buffalo Bill, Mayor of Old Colorado City, and the Broadmoor Music Academy entertaining in the streets. Giant Happy Hour, Giant Farmers Market, Giant Sidewalk Sales, and more await you at this fun filled event. Scarecrow days will be in full swing the whole month of October. Fun for the whole family.

5. Museum Sleepover at Children’s Museum of Denver: We invite you and your family to spend the night on our fire truck, inside the anthill, on a lily pad or in your favorite spot at the Museum.
