The Salvation Army in Boston reported an unusual donation placed in one of their red kettles last week. A diamond engagement ring with a note attached. The ring valued at $1850 along with a wedding band was left by a widow who wanted to honor her late husband.
According to The Denver Post the note read, “To honor his memory, I donate this ring. I’m hoping there’s someone out there who made lots of money this year and will buy the ring for 10 times its worth. After all, there’s no price on love or the sentimental value of this ring. But money will help the kids. May everyone have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!”
Her donation warmed not only the hearts of volunteers and Salvation Army bell ringers this season, but many more who have heard the story and have been inspired by her generosity.
