Would You Eat Food Made From Human Breast Milk?

While browising Pinterest recently, I noticed a recipe for Breast Milk Pancakes! I had to do a double take because I didn’t realize people actually consumed breast milk other than babies. Upon further research I learned it is a bit of a trend. There are lots of blogs that share recipes for breast milk soap, ice cream, cheese, milkshakes, butter and even lasagna.

It is no secret that human breast milk is better for humans than cow milk. It is rich in nutrients and fats that are made for us! However, is including it in recipes for adults going a little too far?

Recently one mom posted some pictures of her attempt at making breast milk butter on Imgur.com – it received lots of mixed reactions.

“Well this ruined my day.”

“One of these days my fingers will listen to my brain and not click.”

“omg I just threw up a little in my mouth.”

Some were more supportive:

“That’s just fantastic. Did you salt it? What did you eat it with?”

User “Whatmichelledoes” was pretty proud of her creation and posted, “the final product! Butter that I made without ever leaving my house! Pretty cool.”

What are your thoughts? Would you eat a food made with breast milk or should it be saved for infants only?
