The Pikes Peak Children’s Museum is excited to sponsor the first annual Family Fun Zombie Run. This is a family-friendly event encouraging families to be active together. The event will include an adult 5K race starting in the America the Beautiful Park as well as kids’ events including children’s races and a costume contest. Zombies will be scattered over the 5K course, but will not be at the kids’ events and will not approach strollers on the adult course. The zombies will block and chase runners to encourage the runners to use their Big Brains to survive. The zombies will chase runners for up to 100m and will not touch them, but will try to capture their flags (2 per runner worn on waist). Any runner who loses both flags will be considered of the run-dead!
Following the adult 5K run, there will a costume contest with free entry. The top two costumes in each age category (<5, 5-7, 7-10) will receive a prize valued at $25 or greater. Following the costume contest, there will be three children's runs by age category. The first thirty runners will receive a medal. Our friends at My Gym will be there to help the kids warm up and do an obstacle course!
