Obesity is a growing problem around the world. Doctors are always looking for ways to stop the epidemic and fix the problem.  However, one doctor says that he has the answer – c-sections.

British medical expert, Dr. Edward Archer, says that before medical intervention in the childbirth process, women with complications would have previously died.  He told The Mail on Sunday “When a mother is inactive and obese, their baby grows massive. The baby can’t get through the birth canal, and the doctor has to perform a C-section.” Both the mother and baby survive, but in previous decades they would have died.  It is basically natural selection.

His comments were in response to an article posted in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings. He wrote that  obesity is not just genetics, eating too much, and exercising too little.  He says it is “hard-wired into the children of fat mothers while they are still in the womb.”
