The internet is full of amazing proposals as well as ones that have gone wrong, and this one might rank in the top 3 worst proposals! (Or best proposal, depending on your sense of humor).
The setting was lovely, a cool crisp day at a beach on Lake Michigan with waves crashing in the background, and family there to share the big moment. Bill Devaney gathered his girlfriend and a few others, including her mother to share in the moment. Unfortunately, seconds before he proposed her mother tripped on a rock and face planted into the sand. Mom lay there for a few seconds dazed and confused. Without even waiting for his future mother-in-law to get up, Bill got down on one knee and popped the question.
You can tell his girlfriend is a little torn on where to give her attention! Her mother is laying in the sand, and her boyfriend just proposed. Such an awkward moment! You can’t help but laugh a little, but at the same time it just feels wrong on so many levels! I would have suggested maybe waiting until mom was…I don’t know, ok??
