When kids are playing there is usually a lot of laughing, some squeals of delight, and occasionally some screams. Kids having a good time are usually loud kids. Children’s noise is usually not obnoxious to anyone, except for the grumpy people next door to an Australian cafe.
The Sprout Wholefood Cafe posted on their Facebook page that they were being ordered to remove a kids’ cubby house from their back yard. “It is with much regret that due to neighbouring complaints about “children’s noise (laughter/fun!!!)”
Locals responded with jabs for the grumps on social media:
“What has our world become when children having fun outside instead of sitting with their heads shoved in an iPad is considered noise pollution?”
“Hmm, kids will probably make more noise now… Will they ban the kids next?!?”

It is with much regreat that due to neighbouring complaints about “childrens noise (laughter/fun!!!)” that Sprout have been ordered by council to remove the kids cubby house. Anyone who would like to dismantle and take the cubby please personal message us as by Sunday we sadly will be removing the cubby. We would like to see this go to another home where children enjoying playtime is not clasified as a noise disturbance.
Please note it is not in prestine condition – it has been used and abused by the Sprout children so anyone wishing to take the cubby away can resore it to its former glory.
Seriously, kids who are playing cannot be that obnoxious. What a wonderful place to have for kids to play while parents eat a meal. Too bad it was forced out by ill-tempered folks.
