The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum hosts a fair highlighting local food, traditions and music.

In celebration of Colorado Day, the anniversary of Colorado’s statehood, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum will host the Colorado Grown Urban Fair on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. The fair will feature local food, music and traditions with booths from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on the Museum grounds and then finish with a performance by the Fort Carson 4th Infantry Division Concert Band from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. KRCC will have a music stage from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and NOSH will be featuring a special “Colorado Grown” cocktail from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. during the concert. The fair and all activities are FREE of charge.

In addition to these activities, there will also be a Facial Hair Photo booth Contest, in honor of the enduring legacy of the Pikes Peak Whisker Club that met on the CSPM grounds in the 1930’s. Those wishing to participate in the contest should come to the photo booth sporting their best beards or mustaches or design their own using props and art supplies provided by the Museum. Photos taken during the contest will be uploaded to the Museum’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/cspioneersmuseum so the public can vote on them and determine a winner.

The event will feature a variety of local artists, community organizations, local farms, and local restaurants, including:
