As part of Gov. John Hickenlooper’s Child Welfare Plan, Colorado recently launched a statewide child abuse and welfare hotline.
The hotline number is 1-844-CO-4-KIDS with it’s headquarters in Lamar. Twelve staff members will run it, and it will be available to callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Lamar location will assist in directing callers to the appropriate county to handle their report. The hotline will also facilitate those who are deaf and those who do not speak English or Spanish.
