Safety First: IKEA Bans Hide-and-Seek

IKEA is an amazing store. You can shop, you can eat, you can try out the furniture, and you used to be able to play hide-and-seek. However, the super Swedish furniture store says no more games.

“We are very happy that people are playful but safety must prevail,” said spokesperson for the Ikea Group Martina Smedberg. “Please don’t play hide-and-seek in Ikea stores.”

People around the world have been playing hide-and-seek games in stores all over the world. However, things are getting out of control There are Facebook groups and people planning “events” to make these games super epic. Over 19,000 people signed up for the ultimate hide-and-seek game at an Amsterdam store.

In the nicest way possible the retailed is asking shoppers to stop hiding in bins of pillows, hanging out in the bathrooms, and climbing on the shelves. It is all about safety and keeping the customers from hurting themselves or someone else.
