Last week, third-grade teacher Nicole Bollerman won $150,000 in Capital One’s #WishForOthers contest, but instead of using the winnings for herself she decided to give back to her students.
According to Popsugar.com she wrote the following in her entry: that she wished her “voracious, adorable, hardworking, loving scholars all leave for their December break with a book in their hand.” Capitol One seemed to like it, because she won the funds needed to make it happen.
She plans on using the money towards better computer access and coding lessons for the children. Capitol One also gifted her students three books each, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, My Father’s Dragon, and Where the Wild Things Are. However, Bollerman wanted all of the students in her school to have their own reading material so she and her mother purchased books for the entire school from their own funds.
Bravo Ms. Bollerman for being such a loving and passionate teacher!
