Did you know that approximately 3.5 billion people in the world are anemic, making anemia the largest nutritional problem in the world? In many third world countries, iron supplements are either too expensive or not available which further compounds the issue.

Canadian physician, Dr. Christopher Charles is hoping his invention will help make anemia a thing of the past.

Dr. Charles invented a small iron fish AKA “lucky iron fish” that when added to boiling water for a length of time adds 75% of the daily recommended amount of iron for an adult.

“Boil up water or soup with the iron fish for at least 10 minutes…you can then take it out. Now add a little lemon juice which is important for the absorption of the iron,” explains Dr. Charles. The food will not taste any different, and the iron fish itself lasts for many years.

Over 2500 people in Cambodia have been using the iron fish already, and a study showed that over half were no longer anemic after using the fish regularly for 12 months.

This could be a life saver for many third world countries!  Who knew such a simple idea could be so beneficial!  For more information you can visit luckyironfish.com.
