How to Make Rainbow Noodles

Spring and Easter are just around the corner, and I love celebrating by doing fun and colorful activities with the kids!  Recently my friend made these “rainbow” noodles with her children, and I loved how they turned out (I mean, seriously, aren’t they so cute?!) so I begged her to teach me how to do it.  They’re super easy and super fun and super perfect for Spring festivities, so gather the kids and make some soon!

What you need:

Package of noodles (I like the look of Rotini for this, but you can use whatever you like)

Food coloring (the neon colors are fun and bright)

baggies

hot (but not boiling) water

Directions:

Add one cup of dry noodles to one baggie for every color you want.  So, if you decide on making 6 colors, you’ll have 6 baggies of noodles.

For each bag of noodles, add 2 tablespoons of hot water and 10 drops of dye, and shake it up until all noodles are coated.  Let sit 3-5 minutes, or until the desired shade of color is reached.  Then rinse noodles in cold water until water runs clear.

Cook as usual and top with sauce or butter.  You can get crazy and add a little food coloring to some Alfredo sauce to match the noodles too!

*Note: If you are hesitant to use store bought food coloring due to sensitivities, you can make all-natural dyes at home.  Learn how HERE.
