I don’t know about you, but it is a tough job finding Halloween costumes for my three kids every year. Don’t get me wrong, we love Halloween and have lots of fun with it – but planning, and then buying/making their costumes takes a lot of time and money. For these reasons, I am blown away at what one Boston mom is doing this year!

Jacqueline Kontoes loves everything about costumes. She loves designing them and dressing up her kids in them. According to her Instagram account they love it as well. Jacqueline’s Instagram is full of these amazing daily creations, and she has gained quite a following.

According to KSL.com, her 2-year-old son, Johnny, became characters like Sloth from “The Goonies,” and Ralphie from “A Christmas Story” while her 5-year-old twins, Darla and Dexter, became Garth and Wayne from “Wayne’s World” and Doc Brown and Marty McFly from “Back to the Future.”

She tells KSL.com, “It’s been something that we really do together. We’ve kind of put a little table out in the living room with a sewing machine and glue gun and sometimes we’ll put together a costume together. I think our kids really like it.”

Jacqueline says these costumes only take about 30 min. to an hour of her day to create. Although I think it’s amazing, I don’t know if I believe her! It seems like there are a lot of special accessories that need to be purchased/made. I don’t know if I would ever have the time! The result sure is fun though, and inspiring too!

Do you make your own costumes? What’s your most elaborate creation?
